The project treats attraction to imagery as something textured and personal. A profile may reveal that you like softness with control, fantasy with rules, visibility with a mask, or intimacy that stays entirely private.
The goal is not to label your life. It is to give you elegant language for the images that hold your attention.
Why images
Desire often arrives as atmosphere first.
Before people know what to call a preference, they often know the photograph: the light, the distance, the pose, the fabric, the way the image is allowed to reveal or withhold.
The Index starts there. It reads visual appetite as a pattern of attraction and boundary, not as a demand to explain your life.
Comfort is part of the profile.
The Index does not ask you to upload photos or describe real people. It works through multiple-choice visual preferences so you can stay in control of what you reveal.
Under the surface, the questions are chosen to narrow the profile without repeating themselves. On the surface, it should feel like a private photography quiz that keeps getting more precise.
